Guangxi holds large-scale trade and investment negotiation conference in Malaysia

 From May 17th to May 20th, the Guangxi delegation led by Li Jinzao, member of the Standing Committee of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Autonomous Region, visited Malaysia for a period of 4 days. The Guangxi delegation consists of government delegation, economic and trade delegation, and cultural performance delegation. The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, National Development and Reform Commission, and Ministry of Commerce also sent representatives to participate in the activities of the Guangxi delegation. The Fangchenggang Economic and Trade Delegation, led by their leader Zhu Jun and deputy leader Xu Zuhe, came to Malaysia with the Guangxi delegation to carry out economic and trade negotiations.

    On the afternoon of May 18th, the "China Guangxi Malaysia Trade and Investment Fair" hosted by the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, supported by the Chinese Embassy in Malaysia, co organized by the China Chamber of Commerce in Malaysia, and organized by Maxun Exhibition Company was held at the Grand Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia. More than 1100 government officials, business representatives, and people from all walks of life attended. At the meeting, Li Jinzao delivered a speech on behalf of the Guangxi District Party Committee and the District People's Government, highly praising the good cooperation between Guangxi, China and Malaysia in recent years. In 2006, the economic and trade between Guangxi and Malaysia increased by 18.4% year-on-year. Li Jinzao hopes that in the future, the two countries will further strengthen cooperation, increase friendship, and promote each other. He warmly welcomes Malaysian entrepreneurs to invest and develop in Guangxi, and encourages Guangxi entrepreneurs to go abroad and develop in Malaysia, making contributions to the friendly cooperation between China and Malaysia. Li Jinzao introduced the economic development of Guangxi, China to Malaysian friends, hoping to achieve cooperation with Malaysia in ports, logistics, industrial transfer, tourism, engineering contracting and other aspects under the Pan Beibu Gulf economic cooperation and the "one axis, two wings" pattern. Li Jinzao warmly invited Malaysian entrepreneurs to attend the China ASEAN Expo in Nanning in October this year.

    Chinese Ambassador to Malaysia Cheng Yonghua and the head of the Malaysian Ministry of Industry and Trade also delivered speeches, wishing Guangxi's economic and trade activities in Malaysia a complete success and wishing the friendship between China and Malaysia to last forever. At the negotiation meeting, a Guangxi photo exhibition was also held, screening films introducing the development of Guangxi.
