Natural rubber will be in short supply in 2010

According to a report by Thailand's World Journal, Thailand's Minister of Agriculture and Cooperation, Tila, stated that at the just concluded International Rubber Summit, the industry expects demand for natural rubber and synthetic rubber to reach 10.5 million tons and 14.3 million tons by 2010, an increase of 17% and 13% respectively from 2006. The estimated global natural rubber production in 2010 was 10.42 million tons.

¡¡¡¡Tira said that judging from the increase in rubber planting area, Thailand's rubber industry will have rapid growth. The government should vigorously develop the rubber products industry and replace more raw rubber materials for direct export.
